As per the National Bureau of Statistics, the number of tourists visiting Seychelles has had a 15% increase in 2017 when benchmarked against figures of 2016. The iconic beaches and many a hotel in Seychelles the likes of Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino have also played a role in luring in tourists to the country. With the increase in the rate of tourism, there seems to be a rise in demand for tour guides as well.
The Ministry of Tourism in Seychelles decided to help by introducing a short course, so tour guides can familiarize themselves with the basics. The course covers areas such as enhancing the aptitudes and attitudes necessary for the job. Moreover, it is imperative that tour guides are equipped with the knowledge of Seychelles history as well as geography.
