The popular local news reporter The Sunday Times recently featured an article on the latest addition to the luxurious accommodation options in Sri Lanka, Shangri-La Colombo. With the largest pillar-less ballroom in the city of Colombo, the first Shangri-La hotel in Colombo is set to be opened in November. Gearing to welcome Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibition (MICE) travellers to the country, the ballroom has been in the media spotlight ever since the beginning of the site’s construction. The mixed-use complex, One Galle Face that is ideal for those looking for an apartment for sale in Colombo is found within the premises of the hotel.
The article further reported that the General Manager of the hotel, Timothy Wright stated that they were excited to bring together the five star offerings of Shangri-La and the hospitality of Sri Lanka for the customers. Quoting the General Manager, the article revealed that the staff of the hotel chain includes 55% females as opposed to the 15% that is generally maintained in the industry.
