An event that will promote night-time tourism in the city, the Shining Shanghai Festival 2023 will commence later this month centred around the downtown area of the Jing’an District. Scheduled to run from 26th September to 6th October 2023, it will feature light and shadow shows with interactive and immersive features that highlight urban art and living. For those staying at centrally located hotel apartments, Shanghai sightseeing can include taking in the various lighting attractions that can be seen at Shikumen buildings. There is much more to experience as well in the Jing’an District, within easy reach of properties like Citadines Hongqiao Center Shanghai; amongst the hotspots to head to will be popular landmarks such as Tianhou Palace (which has been renovated newly) along with the neighbourhood of Shenyuli.
The Suzhou Creek waterfront will also become a hub for nightlife activities, while malls such as Shanghai Suhewan MIXC World will host an immersive space-themed art exhibition and a spaceship AR tour. Adding to the allure of the Shining Shanghai Festival 2023 will be the issuing of coupons worth approximately US$ 275,000 by China UnionPay during the event; these will link over 500 merchants in the district of Jing’an and are expected to elevate the city’s night economy.
