Singapore Airlines Reports Huge Net Profit for Q1 – Flights to be Increased as Well

With travel around the world picking up following the pandemic, Singapore Airlines, the flag carrier of Singapore has seen a significant increase in demand for air travel. The airline reported a record-breaking $551.51 million net profit for the first quarter ending on 30th June of the current financial year; this was a whopping 98.4% more than the number recorded during the same quarter of the previous financial year. Amongst the factors that contributed to this increase was that the airline transported around 5.48 million passengers which was a 42.6% rise when compared with the same period in the last financial year.

Also of note is that Singapore Airlines has restarted flights to certain cities and plans to increase the frequencies to other destinations. From 28th August this year, it resumed its four-times-weekly flights to the Gimhae International Airport in the South Korean city of Busan. Meanwhile, from 29th October 2023, it will also increase flights to Tokyo, Bangkok, Fukuoka, Hong Kong, Osaka, Phuket, and Nagoya for the Northern Winter season. Supplementary flights to Christchurch are expected to be launched from 22nd November 2023 as well. All this bodes well for Singapore’s tourism industry as more travellers enjoy easy access to this cosmopolitan city-state. Apart from visiting a wide range of attractions, travellers can also look forward to safe accommodation at an affordable hotel in Singapore; these include well-placed properties like Hotel 81 Lucky from where one can experience the best of the city once more.
