Singapore Keen to Start Travel Bubble with Australia – COVID-19 Vaccination a Key Factor

Singapore is interested in beginning a two-way travel bubble with Australia to enable cross border visits between the two nations; if implemented, this travel bubble will initially be for those who have received the completed COVID-19 vaccination. This was one of the key matters discussed when Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister of Australia, met with his Singaporean counterpart, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in June this year; the visit by the Australian Prime Minister took place en route to the G7 Summit that he was attending in Britain.

As more and more Singaporeans complete their COVID-19 vaccination and with stringent guidelines in place, the country hopes to begin travel bubbles with other destinations too. Apart from offering diverse attractions and experiences, the Lion City has also taken steps to ensure safe stays for travellers; this includes hotels in Singapore city centre such as centrally located properties like Grand Park City Hall that are ‘SG Clean’ certified for the strict hygiene and cleanliness measures in place.
