Singapore Opens Travel to Kiwis

A Unilateral Arrangement

The Kiwis were granted access to Singapore under a new system that was introduced last month. Upon return to New Zealand, however, they will still be required to quarantine. Previously, travellers needed an approval letter to gain permission to enter Singapore. Many travellers underwent isolation periods of 14 days at many Singapore serviced apartments the likes of Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Orchard, Singapore.

The Singapore Government has welcomed travellers from both New Zealand and Brunei as they have the pandemic underfoot, while only posing a rather low risk of importation. However, these new travel arrangements remain unilateral as only citizens and permanent residents of New Zealand are allowed to pass through the borders of the country. The Singapore Government has also pointed out – should the travellers entering their borders require medical attention due to COVID-19, they will be solely responsible for the related medical bills.
