SL Tourism Minister Expresses Satisfaction on Tourism Growth – A Slow Recovery Reaching Great Numbers

Sri Lankan minister of tourism and lands, Mr Harin Fernando expressed his satisfaction with the development of the sector and said the bookings for the coming months seem to be good. A year ago, Sri Lanka was under a critical period where its tourism sector experiences major declines, however, the sector is now progressing to higher numbers of tourism arrivals in 2023. Sri Lanka’s diverse experiences for tourists including beaches, mountains, excursions, and local shopping have attracted many people to the island. As the minister says, “There is something for everyone in Sri Lanka”.

Sri Lanka resorts and hotels cater to a large market including India, China, UK, and Russia. This includes popular chains like Thema Collection which has a host of properties at different destinations on the island.
