Special Lecture on the Future of Sinharaja Held in Colombo – What comes next?

A public lecture by Professors Emeriti Dr. Savitri Gunatilleke and Dr. Nimal Gunatilleke were held on the 21st of March 2019, at BMICH. The entrance was free for both members and non-members of the Wildlife & Nature Protection Society. The lecture was mainly on the role of an environmentally conscious public plays in maintaining natures treasures.

Several properties such as Deniyaya hotels the likes of Rainforest EcoLodge also play a part in promoting the preserving nature. Constant vigilance is required to conserve the biological treasure of Sinharaja, as told by the professors who have been conducting long term biological research in Sinharaja and other forests across Sri Lanka over several decades.
