Budget passenger carrier SpiceJet recently declared that they have extended operations to Male, the capital of the Maldives. Renowned for stunning vacation destinations and international resorts such as PER AQUUM Niyama Maldives, the country is expected to undergo a rapid growth with the expansion of the airline. The airline inaugurated its first flight to the capital from Thiruvananthapuram, India on a Bombardier Q400 aircraft. Presently, SpiceJet operates 354 daily flights to 39 domestic destinations and 7 international destinations on average including major international destinations such as Colombo, Kabul, Bangkok, Muscat and Dhaka. Tourists planning to travel to a resort in Maldives now have the opportunity of conveniently, directly flying to Male from one of the mentioned domestic or international destinations.
