At the Arabian Travel Market, which was held from 28th April to 1st May in Dubai this year, Emirates, a premier airline in the Middle East, renewed their strategic partnership with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB). It was also apt that it was in keeping with this year’s event theme of “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism through Enhanced Connectivity”. This partnership, which included both parties signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will no doubt pave the way to increase arrivals to this popular island in South Asia.
Interestingly, the initial MoU between the SLTPB and Emirates was signed in 2022 with the goal of promoting Sri Lanka to the major markets within the airline’s vast global network. The collaboration was further strengthened this year with more joint destination promotion activities such as familiarisation tours and special excursions in the pipeline. From beachside holidays to hill country getaways at a luxury hotel in Kandy, including properties such as Kings Pavilion, Sri Lanka, without a doubt, has much to offer. This newly renewed partnership will help to boost the local tourism industry and bring more travellers to the island in the months to come.
