Sri Lanka Encouraging Repeat Visits – Tourism Campaigns with Specific Targets

Sri Lanka is initiating a comprehensive tourism campaign with the slogan ‘You’ll come back for more,’ targeting both first-time and repeat visitors. The campaign will be executed through short-term and long-term strategies, aiming at key markets such as the UK, Germany, France, India, China, Australia, Russia, the Middle East, and Scandinavia. In addition to the global initiative, a domestic marketing campaign is planned to prepare locals to welcome travellers to various hotspots, such as to many Knuckles hotels and the accommodations like the Wild Glamping Knuckles.

Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, highlighted the significance of the initiative. The thematic campaign’s first phase is scheduled to launch in India, China, Russia, and Australia in 2023, followed by a more extensive long-term campaign focused on 14 key markets in January 2024. This strategic approach is a response to the improved tourism scenario in Sri Lanka following the 2022 financial crisis and the political unrest it triggered.
