Sri Lanka Initiates Couch Safari – Sri Lanka goes virtual

Sri Lanka Tourism Board had come up with the concept of a couch safari which allows one to sit back in the comfort of home and observe the animals in live time from a digital device. The campaign was streaming live in November on Facebook, YouTube and even platforms like Apple TV and Roku TV as well.

The project had a huge response from around the world leaving about 100,000 impressions in total and more than 800 comments. The streaming had reached a major audience. The first episodes of the live streaming session were from Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks showcasing the wildlife and nature in the area. This has renewed the level of interest for Sri Lanka across the world and once travel and tourism are back on track, the country hopes to see even more tourists coming in.
