Sri Lanka Open for Tourists Once More – Traveller Restrictions Eased Further

Since January this year, Sri Lanka reopened for tourists and the country has seen a steady increase in arrivals with each passing month. As part of the entry requirements, travellers must spend their first 14 days in a government-designated “COVID-safe” hotel; within this secure bio bubble, they are permitted to visit certain attractions too under set times and strict procedures.

These regulations were further eased from 18th March 2021; as per the new guidelines, tourists who arrive after two weeks of completing their COVID-19 vaccination need only to stay seven days within the bio bubble. Following a negative PCR test on day seven, they are free to travel within the country. This bodes well for the hospitality industry with some of the best hotels in Sri Lanka including properties of brands like Araliya Hotels & Resorts offering safe accommodation at key holiday destinations.
