As highlighted on the official website of Sri Lanka Tourism in December last year, the country participated in the 2020 edition of the China International Travel Mart; due to travel restrictions, for the first time in the event’s history, it was held online with participating countries setting up 3D virtual pavilions linked to the travel mart’s main portal. Running from 16th to 18th November 2020, the China International Travel Mart gave Sri Lanka a chance to promote what the country has to offer and tap into the growing Chinese market.
With vaccination programmes getting underway globally as well as Sri Lanka opening its international airports on 21st January 2021 for tourists, it will be hoped that foreign arrivals will gradually increase. From finding where to stay in Colombo including at properties such as Cinnamon Red Colombo to discovering the island’s beaches, wildlife and cultural heritage, travellers have much to look forward to on holidays here.
