Expo 2020 was declared open in Dubai, UAE on the 01st of October 2021. This global event will go on till the 31st of March 2022. The Sri Lanka Pavilion was also inaugurated on the same day and the opening ceremony included a lot of cultural performances representing the Sri Lankan traditions and culture. Sri Lanka participates in this even with 3 main objectives this time, namely- promoting foreign direct investments, promoting the Ceylon Tea, Gems, and spices while also encouraging the world to visit Sri Lanka again.
