Although the pandemic still races on, Sri Lanka, in the initial stages was able to manage it quite well and the pace at which the virus spread was very slow. Once confident, the government decided that the situation was safe enough for tourism to begin again. With strict COVID-19 regulations to follow, tourists were allowed into the country and were allowed to travel only to designated areas.
Since the introduction of the vaccine to the world and its success, Sri Lanka too has decided to allow vaccinated tourists to move around in the local community. Of course, they will have to undergo a PCR test upon arrival but are free to visit any place in the country. Places to visit in Bandarawela and other parts of the island are plenty, still, tourists will be expected to abide by the world health and safety rules concerning the pandemic. Bandarawela Hotel and other accommodation options will be strictly adhering to safety and cleanliness standards as well.
