At the recently held Outbound Travel Mart in Mumbai, India, Sri Lanka had a special pavilion which showcased some of the island’s unique experiences to attract more tourists. Held from 3rd to 5th February 2020, this popular travel mart also provided the Sri Lankan delegation with a platform to forge valuable partnerships with representatives and professionals from India’s travel and tourism sector.
Amongst the top ten markets in terms of visitors to Sri Lanka, India continues to be a key source market; from stays at a south coast hotel in Kalutara, Sri Lanka the likes of Mermaid Hotel & Club to colonial bungalows amidst the mountains in Nuwara Eliya, the country offers diverse accommodation options too. It is hoped that with the participation at such events and concerted promotion drives, the number of Indian visitors will increase.
