Sri Lanka ranked top country for travel in 2019 by Lonely Planet – A compilation of unmissable experiences

Ranked the best country in the world to visit in 2019 by Lonely Planet, Sri Lankan tourism is reaching newer heights. 10 years after the end of the civil war, several regions of the island that were previously deemed too dangerous for tourists have now opened. The country has seen a dramatic increase in the number of tourists visiting along with huge investments in accommodation, with international hotel chains now opening properties island-wide.
