Sri Lanka Tourism recently had the honor of participating in the Japan Tourism Expo, the biggest travel affair to take place in Asia. The event was hosted by the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) in Tokyo city.
The state minister for tourism development for Sri Lanka Ranjith Aluviahra stated that the Japanese market is very important to the island and they were keen to promote Sri Lanka and hotels in Kalutara including the likes of Anantara Kalutara Resort among Japanese travellers.
The JATA is considered to be one of the world’s most important tourism trade fairs, which is held annually in the last week of September at the Tokyo’s Fair Ground which is also known as Tokyo Bigsite. Over 17 DMC’s and 200, 000 attendees partook in the event, along with a record number of 7,000 business meeting appointments taking place.
