Sri Lanka to Attract More Tourists & Boost Revenue – New Initiatives & Promotions in Place

As the Sri Lankan tourism industry looks to get back on track, several initiatives and new promotions have been launched. One of these was the issuing of soft-liquor licenses to restaurants and hotels in identified tourist areas which came into effect on 28th July this year; such a move, made after a recommendation by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, is expected to boost the revenue of smaller restaurants and hotels as well as the government.

To encourage more travellers to the island, the country also had various tourism promotions in India. As mentioned on the online edition of the Daily Mirror news website on 20th August 2022, Minister of Tourism and Lands, Harin Fernando, was in Ahmedabad as part of a promotional event; he highlighted the importance of drawing more tourists from India and further added that the country is targeting to reach one million arrivals by the year’s end. These travellers can enjoy the island’s unique experiences once more and choose from diverse accommodation options like boutique villas; Sri Lanka getaways in key destinations including Mirissa and Nuwara Eliya are also on offer at properties of hospitality brands like Reveal the Collection that offer safe stays too.
