Sri Lanka Tourism bounce back with a positive influx of tourist arrivals – A great holiday season!

The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), has achieved a significant milestone in tourist arrivals. As of June this year, Sri Lanka has welcomed 624,874 tourists, demonstrating a notable increase compared to the arrivals in 2022.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic crisis, Sri Lanka Tourism has successfully resumed its operations and implemented effective promotional strategies to attract visitors from around the globe. India emerged as the leading source market, contributing the highest number of arrivals, followed by the UK, Russia, Australia, China, Germany, Canada, Maldives, the United States, and France. These results highlight the success of the collaborative efforts and marketing campaigns undertaken by Sri Lanka Tourism to revive the tourism industry and foster international travel to the country. Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort and many other hotels in Tangalle and around Sri Lanka have also had a good season this summer.
