Sri Lanka Tourism Expecting Growth in 2023 – Pre-COVID Benchmarks to be Achieved!

The Tourism Minister of Sri Lanka Harin Fernando mentioned how the industry is hoping for a comeback in 2023, which will be a dream year for the island. As per the minister, Sri Lanka is on a smooth path to recovery after months of political and economic unrest. For 2023, the country has planned to take part in tourism fairs around the world in London, Berlin, ITB, and World Travel Market. After 2018, this is the year when the island can expect a peak number of tourists to visit, as the country’s situation has turned favourable.

Sri Lanka has eased the visa rules and COVID-19 regulations to provide more flexibility and convenience to foreigners planning to visit the island, and popular destinations like Mirissa, Galle, Ella, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Yala; hotels are being booked for months ahead.
