Sri Lanka Tourism Experiences Doubled Revenue in May 2023 – Booming Tourism Amidst Economic Recovery  

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry has witnessed a remarkable resurgence, surpassing all expectations and generating a staggering 200% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. In May 2023 alone, the country’s tourism sector brought in an impressive sum of 131.5 million USD, as reported by the Central Bank, following an extensive survey conducted by the tourism promotion office. Despite entering the off-peak season, Sri Lanka continues to experience a substantial influx of tourists, with a notable 524,486 foreign visitors gracing its shores by May.
