Sri Lanka tourism promoted in the US – Deserving International Recognition

The popular local business news provider EconomyNext reported that the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau along with thirteen leisure firms represented Sri Lanka at a promotional event held in Washington DC, in the United States of America. The event was organized as a part of a road show that took place on 2nd October, 2017. Sri Lanka was represented by several key participants such as Aitken Spence that offers accommodation options across the country including Nuwara Eliya 5 star hotels the likes of Heritance Tea Factory.

Charge de Affaires of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C, Gamini Keerawella stated that the US can be considered as an important market for Sri Lanka due to its large outbound volume recorded annually. The report further stated that the US is a significant market for East Asian nations that feature travel-related companies that offer multi-country packages.
