The World Travel Market (WTM), the premier global event for the Travel and Tourism Trade, commenced on November 6th this year at the Excel Exhibition Hall in London, UK, promoting international travel across the globe. The three-day event, held from November 6th to 8th, saw the active participation of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka High Commission in London, alongside 73 industry partners.
The primary goal of this representation was to position Sri Lanka as a distinguished destination in global travel, providing the Sri Lankan travel industry with a platform to engage with industry partners, stay informed about the latest trends, and showcase new products and services. Sri Lanka’s Tourism Chairman and Minister Fernando set up many B2B meetings with UK media, travel companies and associations. All this was done to drive destinations like Weligama Bay, hotels the likes of Parangi Weligama Bay and many more places to visit, stay and things to do on the island.
