Sri Lanka Tourism organized a few road shows in Chandigarh, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hyderabad a few months ago to showcase Sri Lanka as one of the top options for Indian traveller to plan their holidays. Over tour operators, tourists and over 90 tour agents attended the shows in India with a new interest in the destination.
According to statistics, Sri Lanka has seen 3.84 lakhs of tourist arrivals in 2017 and expect and 4.50 lakhs of Indian tourists in 2019. Indian tourist will have a wide range of accommodation options available. One such example is Cantaloupe Aqua located down south in Galle. Hotels in this area are equipped with modern facilities to enjoy. The purpose of the roadshow was to further highlight the attractions of Sri Lanka such as the Ramanaya Sites to pique the interest of Indian tourists hoping to visit the island.
