Sri Lanka vs Australia 2nd ODI, Colombo – Massive Win for the Hosts

With paceman Mitchell Marsh returning back home to recover for the upcoming South African series the 2nd one day international between Australia and hosts Sri Lanka got off to a rocky start with a less than stable middle order concerning the Australian team’s mounting woes this series. Having taken place on Wednesday, August 24th at the R. Premadasa Stadium the match drew fans from around the region to Colombo Courtyard and other hotel hubs in the Sri Lankan commercial capital to witness the contest. As the second of a five-match one day series, deemed one of the most anticipated Colombo events for cricket fans this year, the visiting team was looking to make headway on their victory on Sunday having beaten Sri Lanka with three wickets in hand. But the promised comeback from the disastrous test series was not to be as the Sri Lankans proved their mettle under pressure with a convincing 82 run win against the Australians.
