Sri Lanka’s Defence Force Ventures into Sri Lanka Tourism Frontier — Exploring new tourism horizons

Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando will convene with the heads of the armed forces and police to strategise tourism projects, aiming to enrich visitor experiences. The police will ensure tourist safety, while the Sri Lankan Air Force plans to expand domestic flights. Additionally, the Navy will foster marine tourism, and the Army will launch life-saving programs.

With Sri Lanka intensifying efforts to boost tourism, it seeks to address infrastructure gaps and bureaucratic hurdles. The government’s collaborative approach signals a concerted drive to tap into tourism’s economic potential. Initiatives to facilitate marine tourism, including yacht-based leisure activities, are underway, as Sri Lanka’s Tourism Promotion Bureau works to dismantle barriers in the sector.
