When it comes to the COVID-19 situation in Sri Lanka at the moment, the country that was on the way to recovery has taken a downward turn since the latter part of April. The country that reported only 95 new cases on the 6th of April has risen to more than 4000 cases between the 10th and 23rd of April. The number of cases is still on a rapid rise, still, authorities state that there will be no island-wide lockdown.
Luxury resorts in Sri Lanka the likes of Heritance Hotels are still open, and tourism goes on. However, the quarantine rules are very strict. Those arriving in the country will have to submit a negative PCR test as well as stay in isolation at selected government hotels. Those who have already been vaccinated will have to do a PCR on arrival only. Travellers who have not been vaccinated will have to do 2 PCR tests on arrival and before departure along with 14 days quarantine.
