Surfing in Arugam Bay – A surfing hotspot

Located in the province of Ampara, about 314km away from Colombo, Arugam Bay is famous for its rushing waves. Places in Sri Lanka on the eastern coast such as Hikkaduwa and Arugam Bay became popular among surfers in the early 60s.
