As reported on Daily Mirror Online on the 26th of August 2022, Sri Lanka will be welcoming Swiss visitors to Colombo, Galle, Negombo, Kandy, Kalutara hotels etc. during the winter season of Switzerland. The announcement arrived following the easing in other tourism source markets like France, which too had warned their citizens to travel to Sri Lanka only under unavoidable circumstances or for air transits.
As the Swiss Government eased the travel advisory imposed on Sri Lanka, accommodations like Mermaid Hotel & Club are most likely to be eagerly awaiting the arrival of foreign nationals to their lodgings. The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators stated that Switzerland is an important market for the country and that relaxing the travel advisory in time for their winter season would be positive news for the local tourism sector.
