Marking 50 years of diplomatic ties, China and Thailand held a joint forum this year in the Thai capital, Bangkok. This event, which took place in January 2025, was held under the theme “Our Golden Friendship”. This perfectly reflects the alliance that these two nations share, while the forum highlighted the initiatives and plans to strengthen this bond, enhance tourism and foster greater cultural ties.
One of the initiatives which took the spotlight was the China-Thailand high-speed railway; when it is completed, it will offer easy access to both countries and help boost arrival numbers as well. Of course, tourism has already been boosted with the mutual visa-exemption policy that has seen an influx of visitors from China to Thailand.
As highlighted on The Nation news website on 9th February 2025, Thailand recorded 3.709 million international tourists for January this year, of which the majority were from China (662,779). Not surprisingly, Bangkok remains a popular choice for travellers who can enjoy stays at hotels in Khaosan, an area known for its cultural, shopping, dining and nightlife hotspots. Properties here, the likes of Tinidee Trendy Khaosan, remain an ideal choice for tourists from around the world looking to enjoy the best of the Thai capital.
