Thailand Continues to Be Fully Reopened for Tourists – Visa Stay Periods Also Extended

In January this year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand reiterated that the country continues to be reopened to all international travellers under the policy introduced on 1st October 2022. As per the established protocols, tourists don’t need to have proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or show negative results of RT-PCR or ATK tests. However, those coming from or going to destinations that require an RT-PCR test should have health insurance that will cover any COVID-19-related treatments in Thailand.

To attract more travellers, the country has also extended the stay period of visas which will be effective till 31st March 2023. The initial visa stay period for 30 days was extended to 45 days for those arriving from countries or destinations that are eligible for visa exemption; additionally, tourists who are entitled to a visa on arrival have had their stay period extended from 15 days to 30 days. Such travellers can once more enjoy the best destinations of the country including the capital where they can stay at luxury hotels in Bangkok; these include properties that have stringent health and hygiene policies such as Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel which cater to business and leisure guests alike.
