Thailand Is Striving to Improve Tourism with Test & Go

With a positive rise in tourist arrivals to Thailand in December, the country was delighted to once again welcome the visitors that came to explore the exquisite beaches and tropical weather. However, due to a surge in COVID-19 cases from the new variant (Omicron), the country was forced to temporarily suspend their Test & Go system. Regardless of this situation, Kongsak Khoopongsakorn, president of the southern chapter of the Thai Hotels Association believed that this system is key to bringing back the livelihood to resorts in Khao Lak, Phuket, Koh Samui, along with other areas of demand.

The country also seeks domestic support by opening up its hotels for local travellers while introducing surfing passports to Khao Lak surfers who will be able to obtain special promotions from hotels like Avani+ Khao Lak Resort. While waiting for the situation to regain a state of stability, Thailand has also proposed a more relaxed entry system for international tourists with lesser PCR tests to be faced.
