Thailand, a tourism-dependent country, had to close down its borders in response to the pandemic. But now that there are vaccines and the situation seems to be better, the country has opened its borders to travellers – only to vaccinated travellers.
Thailand’s Test & Go scheme dictates that travellers take three Covid tests. The first needs to be done three days prior to arriving in Thailand, and the other two need to be taken on arrival – needless to say, the tests should prove negative. Travellers also need to be vaccinated, with an acceptable vaccine. Those who have recovered from Covid can also travel to Thailand, given that they meet all the above requirements. The best place to stay in Bangkok, or any other Thai city, would be a hotel with the SHA+ certificate – some accommodation providers have facilitated SHA+ accommodation for travellers; an example would be Maitria Hotels & Residences.
