Thailand Plans for a Mega Tourism Reopening – Ensuring Safety To All Visitors

Thailand kept its borders closed for international tourists for over a year until they decided to open Phuket for vaccinated tourists only in July 2021. Following the success of this program, the government planned to reopen other tourist destinations in the country such as Krabi. All these are considered pilot projects by the Thailand Tourism Authority (TAT), and they do changes in the policies as required.

Every hotel in Khon Kaen Thailand and those in other tourist-friendly destinations need to receive an SHA Certificate before they start welcoming guests. Properties such as Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre are most like to have already received this, and this will indeed help to ensure safety to all guests. This tourism strategy is expected to be revised in mid-October this year, and if the situation continues to get better, more destinations will be added to the ‘Sandbox program’.
