Thailand reaffirms its commitment to promoting responsible tourism

A the recently concluded PATA Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart 2016, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the promotion of responsible tourism. The event attracted a wide cross-section of travel executives and delegates who are focused on promoting suitable tourism and adventures within the country and in other international destinations. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has in fact had several green initiatives that it has put into place over the years including the Seven Greens concept, while it also promoted eco-friendly attraction management and endorsed specific green hotels and products in Thailand. Amongst its newer initiatives is the Amazing Thailand Green Routes which focus on encouraging tour operators to highlight holidays where one can experience local traditions and culture. Accommodation that is eco-friendly can be found throughout the country including in island destinations such as Krabi.
