Thailand is enjoying an increase in arrivals this year, particularly visitors from long-haul destinations located further away. As reported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the country welcomed more than 11.35 million tourists from 1st January to 21st April 2025, which included a significant year-on-year growth rate in long-haul markets; these arrival figures included 423,324 from the United Kingdom (+20.61%), 407,378 from Germany (+13.14%) and 364,262 from France (+22.65%). Also of note was that a total of 131,958 arrived from Israel, which was an impressive +97.43% growth when compared to the same period last year.
One of the reasons attributed to this surge in visitors was the expanded airline seat capacity on flights to Thailand, as well as the launch of new routes and increased flight frequencies to cities like Bangkok. The nation’s capital continues to be popular for both short- and long-haul destination visitors, be it for leisure or business. The dynamic district of Sukhumvit remains a popular choice for those in search of where to stay in Bangkok, with well-placed properties like Maitria Mode Sukhumvit 15, offering easy access to the best of the city.
