Thailand Sets Mid-October To Reopen To Vaccinated Visitors – Reopening Borders

Thailand received nearly 40 million tourists in 2019, but the COVID 19 pandemic destroyed all the plans it had for 2020. Thailand was fully closed to international visitors for over 1 year until its tourist hotspots such as Phuket reopened to vaccinated tourists in July 2021.

However, the officials today have declared that the country will be fully opened to vaccinated tourists by mid-October. Under this strategy, quarantine measures will not be applicable, and there will be minimum restrictions for visitors. Every ASQ hotel in Bangkok the likes of Maitria Mode Sukhumvit 15 will then be receiving visitors and will continue to operate with maximum health and safety protocols. They will also be monitored by public health officials and the tourism authorities regularly to ensure the safety of the visitors and the local community as well. The government also hopes to cover at least 70% of the local population by this time of the year.
