The 1st of April 2022 was the day that Thailand further eased its travel restrictions aiming for economic growth through tourism, as travellers sought refuge for a much-needed vacation at the best resort in Pattaya. The new regulations eased the entry requirements to the country as guests no longer needed to observe a period of quarantine. All those who registered at a SHA+ certified hotel like Avani Pattaya Resort or an ASQ hotel were able to undergo an RT-PCR test on arrival at the property. A follow up self-antigen test can be performed by the guests themselves to be submitted on the 5th day.
The previously implemented sandbox programme also reduced the number of days from 7 to 5, as guests were allowed to step out into the streets of Thailand after the 5th night. Partially or non-vaccinated travellers’ quarantine period was also reduced from 7 to 5 days, followed by the RT-PCR test on days 4-5.
