The 1st Asian Women’s U16 Volleyball Championship Held in Hangzhou – Premier Volleyball Action

The eagerly awaited 1st Asian Women’s U16 Volleyball Championship was held in Hangzhou from July 1 to 8. This significant championship served as the Qualification Tournament for the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U17 World Championship and also as a test event for the upcoming Asian Games volleyball tournament.

In light of India’s withdrawal for NOC reasons, the competition featured a total of 11 teams. These teams were grouped into four pools for an intensive 3-day round-robin preliminary stage. Pool A consisted of the host nation China, along with Mongolia and Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, Pool B comprised Japan, Australia, and Iran. Pool C showcased Thailand, China, and Kazakhstan, while Pool D contained only Chinese Taipei and Macao, China. During the event, local Hangzhou apartments the likes of lyf Mid-Town Hangzhou provided comfortable accommodations for the athletes and their support staff, ensuring they were well-rested and ready to perform their best. This tournament not only celebrated sportsmanship and talent but also highlighted Hangzhou’s capability to host international events seamlessly.
