The 37th Annual Bali Arts Festival – A celebration of old and new

The Bali Arts Festival is one of the major highlights of the Bali events calendar and features a spectacular showcase of performing arts and cultural presentations not just from Bali but other islands in Indonesia as well. The festival is held annually, and traditionally starts on the second Saturday of June and runs all the way through to mid July, with 2015 being its 37th year running. Travellers hoping to catch the revelry might consider the Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort & Spa for their accommodation choice as this Seminyak Bali resort is located approximately 40 minutes from the festival venue.

The Bali Art Centre is the hub of all the festivities with open stages, auditoriums and outdoor pavilions set up. It is not unusual to see large crowds gather to watch the variety of shows held here that include shadow puppetry, traditional acts and contemporary dances. The festival attracts a large number of spectators locally as well as internationally and travellers visiting Bali during the months of June and July would find it a colourful and exciting bonus to add to their itinerary.
