Earlier this month, TheTravel website (www.thetravel.com) published its list of the “10 Best Dolphin and Whale Watching Spots in Maldives” where visitors are most likely to see these amazing marine mammals. Amongst the key destinations mentioned was the Male Atoll (made up of the South and North Male Atolls) known for offering sightings of diverse marine species including humpback whales and bottlenose dolphins in Maldives. Luxury hotels on private islands here such as Adaaran Club Rannalhi feature special dolphin-watching tours which provide an ideal way to spot these playful denizens of the deep.
TheTravel website further revealed that this Indian Ocean nation is amongst the world’s top five places to see whales and dolphins and listed many more destinations in Maldives to visit in this regard; these included the Faafu, Thaa, Laamu and Lhaviyani Atolls as well as the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve known for its seasonal manta ray sightings too.
