Followed by the successful completion of four award sessions, the fifth session of the Geoffrey Bawa Award for Excellence in Architecture is all set to be launched for the year 2019-20, opening opportunities to all works of quality architecture built in Sri Lanka. The past awards have been achieved by unique pieces of architecture in the country including private homes and Sri Lanka luxury resorts which have been up to the standards of the panel of judges.
Geoffrey Bawa is the mastermind behind several innovative creations such as the Parliament of Sri Lanka and his ideas and styles are still being used by the modern architects for their creations. This is evident by the architectural features introduced to tourist attractions of Sri Lanka the likes of Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort and this award cycle is expected to motivate such silent stars who surely need a piece of recognition for their unique conceptual skills.
