The Maldives Reports UK Visitor Number Boost – A Bourgeoning Hospitality Sector

According to a recent article by leading travel industry publication, Travel Weekly, the Maldives has shown a significant growth in regards to the number of visitors to the country from the UK. The figures show that there were a total of 11,829 visitors from the UK in March this year which is a 17.5% increase when compared with the 10,063 visitor number in March 2017.

This growth is also mirrored in the number of UK tourists to the Maldives in the first quarter of 2018 which was at 32,633, a 12.2% increase from last year. Such visitors to the country have the option of staying at everything from guesthouses to Maldives luxury resorts on their very own islands with options including Naladhu Private Island Maldives. This upward trend in tourist arrivals from the UK is also consistent with the increase in global arrivals to the country, with the first quarter of 2018 registering a 17% growth of global arrivals when compared to 2017.
