The Maldives with the attempt of capturing one of their major target markets joined the 27thMarine Diving Fair in Tokyo that took place from the 5th of April to the 7th of April 2019. The country was represented by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation along with the Maldivian embassy in Japan. The delegation was led by the Ambassador of Maldives to Japan, H. E. Mr. Ibrahim Uvais.
Various activities were planned out for the 3 days to be implemented at the Maldives booth. Some of the activities that brought in visitors to the stall were local food tasting, a game of bingo where the winner was offered a free holiday package from Liyela Retreat and a Q & A session where the winner was offered yet another special prize. Through the promotion of Maldives at the fair Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives and other properties offering luxury resort facilities and services with diving packages will see an increase in guests from the Japanese market.
