The latest business boutique hotel in Sri Lanka’s commercial capital Colombo, The Steuart by Citrus was opened on June 26th, 2015 at a gala event held at the premises. The property is the newest addition to the Citrus Leisure chain which features several other leading Sri Lanka resorts as well. Inaugurated under the auspices of Navin Dissanayake, who is the country’s Tourism and Sports Minister, the opening of The Steuart by Citrus was also attended by Prema Cooray, Citrus Leisure PLC Chairman and Dilith Jayaweera who is the Chairman of George Steuart.
Housed within the historic building known as “Steuart House” which was the original headquarters of George Steuart & Co. 180 years ago, the hotel features a traditional Scottish theme that is tied in with the company’s rich heritage. Apart from 50 rooms, this eight floor property in the heart of Colombo is also home to ‘&Co’ a Scottish-themed pub, a fully equipped meeting room and a business centre.
