The tourism industry calls for a bold, new and progressive master plan

At the 54th anniversary Annual General Meeting of the Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL), its President Sanath Ukwatte highlighted several important facts with regards to the state of the Sri Lankan Tourism sector as per now, and also suggested recovery strategies that can be used to overcome the prevailing challenges, especially has occurred after the Easter Bomb attack to the country.

He also highlighted that although the attack took place targeting the hotels in Colombo, hotels in other areas, like Kalutara hotel chains have also been affected severely with drastically reduced numbers of tourist arrivals to the country. He also expressed that the progressive master plan contributed by all relevant parties of Sri Lanka Tourism will definitely be able to mark a positive change for the betterment of modern hotels such as AVANI Kalutara Resort, travel agents and even the small local business owners who depend on tourism in the time to come.
