waste to value

The “Waste-to-Value” Program in Sri Lanka to Change Public Perspective on Waste – A waste-free Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is often known as a beautiful island destination, and its beaches play a major role in attracting crowds from all over the world. The oceans are getting polluted gradually, and this leads to an unfortunate era where the next generations will be deprived of the chance to enjoy the natural wonders as we do at present.

The wastes being collected from diverse sources play a major role when it comes to pollution, according to experts. Many reputed organizations such as SL Navy and MEPA have collaborated and launched a program called ‘Waste-to-Value’ where they encourage the community to create a waste-free Sri Lanka. In response to this, many other players such as every boutique hotel in Sri Lanka the likes of Kahanda Kanda do their best to re-use and re-cycle the waste that gets collected from their daily operations.
