Tourism traffic to be active again – Reopening borders after the chaos

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism traffic from Mainland China to Macau dropped down to zero as the borders were closed. Although the crossing points were not officially closed, several restrictions were put in place since late January 2020. Tour groups from the mainland to Macau were suspended and this caused huge losses for the Macau five star hotels as well.

However, now the authorities consider reopening the cross borders provided that the pandemic challenge has been successfully suppressed by the nation. They also say that tourism traffic from Mainland China to Macau will also be soon active. With great properties the likes of Hotel Okura Macau, Macau has always been a great destination for the mainlanders and they will soon be able to enjoy this privilege again in the near future.
